Keith Langergraber:
The Trials of Wong Foon Sing
September 8 to October 1 2005
Langergraber's installation focused on the Janet Smith murder case in 1924 but as a work it sat curiously between a museum display and a movie set. It's anti narrative delivered bits of information that told many stories at once. In his talk he spoke of the 'break' with his older work this piece represented.
Keith Langergraber grew up in Kelowna, B.C. and received his B.F.A. from the University of Victoria and an M.F.A. from the University of British Columbia. He has been exhibiting his installation work in galleries in Canada and the United States since 1995 and has made numerous presentations related to his artwork and research. He currently teaches at the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design.
